Behind every successful event is a tremendous amount of planning, coordination, and problem-solving—and that's exactly where Tara Thistlethwaite shines.
In our latest Downingtown Life interview, Ka'u'i Garcia and Colby Martin of KCMG Real Estate Advisors sat down with Tara, owner of Engaged Event Management, to learn more about her passion for event planning and what sets her business apart.
Tara's love for bringing people together started long before she launched her company. After working in corporate America and relocating back to Pennsylvania, she decided to pursue event planning full-time. More than 13 years later, she's still doing what she loves.
While Engaged Event Management began with weddings, the company now coordinates a wide variety of events, including nonprofit fundraisers, corporate gatherings, and community celebrations. Regardless of the event type, Tara believes the key to success comes down to organization, communication, and logistics.
One area of growth for the company has been nonprofit events. By managing vendors, timelines, and behind-the-scenes details, Tara allows board members, staff, and event hosts to focus on their guests and their mission rather than worrying about event-day logistics.
Over the years, she has also built an extensive network of trusted vendors and partners, helping clients bring their vision to life. Whether it's a wedding, gala, or themed fundraiser, her experience allows her to connect clients with the right resources to create memorable experiences for attendees.
When asked what makes Engaged Event Management different, Tara emphasized teamwork. She views her role as the person who keeps everyone informed, organized, and working together so that vendors can perform at their best and clients can enjoy the event they've worked so hard to create.
At the end of the day, Tara's mission is simple: give clients the freedom to be present.
